Flash and Arrow Paleyfest Trailers Are Fucking Awesome

This last weekend both Flash and Arrow went out to PaleyFest 2015. I watched both the live streams through Yahoo and was reminded of how much fun this little DC TV Universe has become. These characters are touching the hearts and minds of fans across the country without being too hokey and avoiding the grimdark approach the DC Cinematic Universe appears to be taking. A highlight for me was a child reciting the "My name is Barry Allen..." opening monologue. It was disgustingly cute. Was there anything better than a child getting to speak to someone he will likely idolize for the rest of his life? No, but there were some insanely good trailers. As the internet loves to proclaim. Hashtag hype.

Flash isn't perfect but– wait. Yes, it's totally perfect. The building of the seasonal arc, the development of Barry Allen, the fight sequences, the reveals! This show really just has it all. Jesse L. Martin hinted he would share some screen time with a giant gorilla and the trailer does a good job of teasing that. When you think about it, it's insane how much the show is juggling between introducing the Flash Rogues, Gorilla Grodd, and the Reverse Flash conflict, along with a possible dark turn for Eddie Thawne. It doesn't even feel cluttered. I'm just excited to see everything. And hey! Ray, Felicity, and Laurel are going to Central City. If Arrow fails, just relocalize the cast over there. The Flash makes everything better.

Whatever faults Arrow may have, the cast is charming in a way that doesn't come across as hokey. Some choice words describing Oliver's state of mind from Stephen Amell makes it feel like they're aware of the awkward creative situations the character is going through this season. Maybe this is an implication of recompense in the upcoming episodes? I stopped reviewing the show on a weekly basis and will be posting my full thoughts on why this season isn't really working for me on Wednesday morning.

That being said; this trailer blows my mind. There are some reveals I wish had been kept hidden for episode reveals, Ray Palmer vs Oliver Queen, Lance discovering the identity of the Arrow again! Maybe this is just what fans needed to get sucked back in? Holy hell. Just watch it for yourself.
