Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity Wars + Phase 3 Spoilers

We did it. Well not so much WE as in Marvel and Sony. But it looks like the nightmare of The Amazing Spider-Man is now over. According to a report from Latino Review there are big things coming to Marvel Studios. As a mindless fanboy, I can't even begin to string coherent paragraphs about this so here are some bullet points for you on the big topics of discussion:

Spider-Man
  • The Spider-Man deal between Marvel and Sony is done and given the greenlight: Spider-Man will make his big appearance in Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1.
  • Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are not going to return as Spider-Man. Both of their last outings have their defenders but also left bad taste in the mouths of audiences (I like Spider-Man 3 and some people like The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Both franchises are now over).
  • Spider-Man would have definitely appeared in Civil War if the opportunity presented itself earlier.
Here's where it gets trickier now. These are MAJOR POSSIBLE SPOILERS that spoil large parts of several Marvel Phase 3 movies. You don't need to read these. They detail the fates of pivotal Avengers and shows just how far heroes will fall during Phase 3. Unless this all turns out to be a bunch of doohickey. These are just rumors but Lation Review has a pretty good track record when coming up with this stuff.

Last chance. Major SPOILERS

Still here? Let's talk about the Avengers roster.

  • Captain America does indeed add new heroes to the Avengers in Age of Ultron
  • Captain America: Civil War includes the popular theory that The Winter Soldier is responsible for the death of Stark's parents (at least his dad). This leads to the rift between the new heroes, plus whatever AoU throws at them.
  • Iron Man and Captain America throw down. Hard.
  • Tony Stark "is discouraged" which could mean anything. However, LR mentions him not being in and out of Marvel movies as not to diminish his eventual return.
  • Black Panther becomes a vital member of the MCU
  • Crossbones kills Captain America during the finale. I'm sure the mantle will carry on but for all intents and purposes, Steve will be dead.
  • Not much here to discuss besides the Astral Plane will be explored
  • Strange is a potential leader for the New Avengers
  • Plenty of Asgardians will meet their demise (and probably come back to life). Thor will be imprisoned in a galactic place of some sort. Kind of a dark note to leave on what is probably the most light-hearted of the series.
  • Guardians is a trip to the stars, giving audiences a breather from Earth's Mightiest Franchise to focus on the galactic side of things.
  • Black Panther is another potential hero to lead the new Avengers team.
  • More Avengers may check into the Black Panther movie.
Oddly enough, no word on how Captain Marvel and Inhumans fit into all of this. Mostly Captain Marvel because that's the only female-lead superhero movie Marvel will have (for now). As for the rest of this... let's all take a moment to breathe this in. *inhales* Okay now let's freak the fuck out.
